Peaks on Route: An Stuc, Beinn Ghlas, Ben Lawers, Meall a'Choire Leith, Meall Corranaich, Meall Garbh, Meall nan Tarmachan,
Start and finish at vistors car park below Beinn Ghlas. Ascend Beinn Ghlas which is easily reached following well marked path. The ridge to Ben Lawers is excellent and makes for good running. In mist best to take a compass bearing off Ben Lawers as it is easy to follow the descent down towards Lochan nan Cat. The ridge descent to the saddle before the ascent of An Stuc is exciting and although the ascent from the saddle to An Stuc is initially steep the summit comes quickly. The descent of An Stuc requires some caution as the route is very rocky and in wet weather will be slippery. The route to Meall Garbh is straight forward but the summit is featureless. Retrace your steps to the saddle between Meall Garbh and An Stuc. From the saddle contour over the NW shoulder of An Stuc and descend on an easterly bearing to the valley bottom. The climb up to Meall a Chorie Leith looks daunting but is not as steep as it looks. You've just got to go straight up. Summit is very flat and summit cairn is at the north end of the plateau. Retrace your steps and following the grassing ridge path to Meall Corraniach which is easy walking after the prevoius climb. Descend following the path and fence posts to were you can contour over the shoulder towards the south end of the reservoir and then cross the dam. The next climb is tough straight up to the stream outlet and then pick up the ridge path to the summit of Meall nan Tarmachan. Lovely rocky ridge path towards Meall Garbh which looks like a minature Matterhorn from a distance, well worth the visit. Descend the south ridge and follow the grassy shoulder and then contour westerly over the peat hags to pick up the track leading back to the visitor car park. I started at 8.30 am and I was out 9 hours; a great day, weather after 12 noon was drizzle and visability down to 100 metres. 7 Munros plus an extra summit. There are a number of cut off points throughout the route which can easily take you back to the car park.
