A couple of years ago I did Table Mountain via the Platteklip Gorge in March. It's a thoroughly enjoyable walk and the dusty path and warm weather make a wild contrast from the average Scottish hill! Starting at the cableway car park (about 900 feet AMSL) it's about a 3 hour walk on good surface and is steep in places, especially in the upper gorge. Take lots of water.<br />
At 3,563 ft it would qualify as a Munro, and unlike ours it has a perfectly good bar at the top to reward yourself then take the cable car back down!
